The Laugh Factory Hollywood recently hosted a live comedy show to salute American troops and mark the country’s 250th birthday. The event took place during the KRTH 25th Annual Radiothon and featured performances from a dozen top comedians.
Radio personalities Gary Bryan and Lisa Stanley hosted the four-hour broadcast. The show aired live on KRTH and was available to stream through audacy.com and the Laugh Factory YouTube channel.
The performance lineup included a mix of comedians who arrived early to support the cause. Among the performers were U.S. Army veteran Thom Tran, who received a Purple Heart after serving in Iraq, and U.S. Marine Corps veteran Jeff King, who was awarded a Purple Heart after serving in Afghanistan.
Other comedians taking the stage included Bill Dawes, Michael D’Angelo, Ron Pearson, Eric Schwartz, Aaron Branch, LouLou Gonzalez, Owen Smith, Preacher Lawson, Mike Binder, and Craig Robinson. To honor the national milestone, military veterans in the audience were given 250 dollars worth of tickets to the comedy club.
Laugh Factory owner Jamie Masada expressed pride in supporting the troops, veterans, and the Bob Hope USO. Masada also thanked the participating comedians for volunteering their time early in the morning for the event.
The club continues to share comedy through its venues and online platforms while working to develop new talent. The organization also runs a comedy camp for at-risk youth, hosts free holiday meals, and organizes fundraising events for social justice initiatives.
