A rare Josh Allen rookie card has sold for $1.7 million in a private deal, setting a new all-time price record for any card featuring the quarterback. The transaction surpassed the previous record of $1.35 million for an Allen card.
The card sold was a 2018 Panini National Treasures Rookie Patch Autograph 1/1. It features an on-card autograph alongside an NFL Shield patch from Allen’s rookie season.
National Treasures rookie patch autographs represent one of the most sought-after formats in modern football card collecting. As a unique one-of-one item, this specific card stands as the highest-tier collectible from Allen’s rookie release class.
The transaction was facilitated by Alt, an alternative asset platform specializing in sports card trading. According to the company, the sale reflects a continuing trend of strong market demand for top-tier cards of prominent NFL quarterbacks.
“A sale of this scale reflects where the high-end market is headed,” said Leore Avidar, CEO of Alt. “The best 1-of-1 rookie cards from era-defining players are being recognized as legitimate assets, and the market is responding accordingly.”
The transaction highlights an evolving high-end sports card market where rare modern assets command premium valuations. Alt indicated that additional record-setting transactions are expected across the industry in the coming months.
