Four-time Grammy nominee Grace Potter has released her newest single, “Belong,” through the label Thirty Tigers. The track serves as the third single from her upcoming 10-track studio album, Trespasser, which is scheduled for release on August 21.
The new single features Wurlitzer melodies, pedal-steel tones, and gospel harmonies to create an existential road song. In support of the upcoming album, Potter recently performed the lead single “Love Me Not” on Live with Kelly & Mark and discussed the project on WNYC’s All of It with Alison Stewart.
The album serves as a spiritual sequel to her 2023 record, Mother Road, and draws inspiration from her solo road trips between California and Vermont. Producer Eric Valentine recorded the project across multiple locations, featuring contributions from musicians Benmont Tench, Nick Bockrath, Tim Deaux, and Matt Musty.
The upcoming album is currently available for pre-order in several distinct vinyl variants, including specialized black, orange, blue, and red pressings. The songwriting on the record incorporates a variety of interconnected storylines and fictional characters across genres ranging from soul to rock and roll.
Potter is scheduled to perform alongside Chris Stapleton this weekend for three dates on the All American Road Show Tour. She will also join the Zac Brown Band for 11 performances this fall on the Love and Fear Tour, which includes stops at Forest Hills Stadium in New York City and the Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Colorado.
Additionally, tickets are on sale for Potter’s annual Grand Point North Festival, scheduled for September 18 through September 20 at Waterfront Park in Burlington, Vermont. The lineup features artists such as Portugal. The Man, Dawes, and Dark Star Orchestra, with proceeds benefiting the Grand Point Foundation to support the arts in Vermont.
