Freestyle Digital Media has released the documentary feature 9/11: Reclaiming Ground Zero across North American digital HD, DVD, cable, and satellite platforms. The digital film distribution division of Allen Media Group made the film available on video on demand beginning Sept. 1, 2026.
Directed by J.B. Sabey, the documentary examines the decision-making process behind rebuilding Ground Zero following the terrorist attacks in New York City. The narrative centers on a massive town hall event that gathered 5,000 New Yorkers to debate and decide the future of the site.
The film features interviews with notable public figures and participants, including Stephen Heintz, Monica Iken, Daniel Libeskind, Errol Louis, Carolyn Lukensmeyer, and former New York Governor George Pataki. Sabey directed the project, which was produced by Lukensmeyer, Robbie Shinder, and Sarah Perkins.
Sabey noted that the film highlights how a divided community managed to collaborate and make unified decisions during a crisis. The documentary draws parallels between the public dialogue following 2001 and contemporary social issues.
Freestyle Digital Media acquired the distribution rights for 9/11: Reclaiming Ground Zero through direct negotiations with the filmmakers and Glen Reynolds of Circus Road Films. The feature is currently accessible to viewers across North America.
