The first-ever DIY CON will take place Nov. 6 to 8, 2026, in Dallas. The three-day event brings together HGTV stars, The Home Depot, top DIY creators, woodworking experts, and makers for hands-on learning, workshops, and live demonstrations. Topics range from home renovation and decorating to woodworking, crafting, and organization.
HGTV stars Ty Pennington and Brian and Mika Kleinschmidt will join for a live panel called “Building Together: Behind the Renovation.” Pennington will host the conversation, which covers biggest renovation wins and disasters, designing for real families, and budget versus dream home decisions. It also includes an audience Q&A. Pennington is the Emmy-winning former host of Extreme Makeover: Home Edition and appears on HGTV’s Rock the Block. The Kleinschmidts star in HGTV’s 100 Day Dream Home.
The Home Depot is the event’s official retail partner and will bring its Home Depot Workshops to DIY CON for the first time. Attendees will complete hands-on projects and build take-home projects with Home Depot Customer Training Managers and DIY creators. Workshops include “The Power of Pegboard” with Amanda and Jared Morgan of @ourhistoricalhouse. “What’s in Your Toolbox” with Nickell Morgan of @simplyhandmade focuses on building a personalized gift. “Handcrafted Holiday: Layer Your Look with DIY Style” is led by Jenasie Earl of @msviciousdesign. Each runs on two of the three days.
Other creators on the lineup include woodworker April Wilkerson, Sarah Listi of Tool Girls Garage, and Kate Albrecht, co-founder of Mr. Kate. Wilkerson will lead sessions on woodworking fundamentals and shop-building. Listi will teach planning and design strategies for renovations, and Albrecht will share the creative process behind popular makeovers.
