Fan-led Global Beatles Day scheduled for June 25 with official network support

The Beatles and Apple Corps Ltd. have officially recognized Global Beatles Day, an annual fan-led celebration held on June 25. The date marks the anniversary of the band’s 1967 live performance of “All You Need Is Love” on the BBC’s “Our World” program, which was the first international satellite television broadcast.
As part of this year’s event, a colorized version of that 1967 Abbey Road Studios performance will be released online for the first time. The video will stream for free on the band’s official YouTube channel, featuring a live chat for participating fans.
The annual celebration was started in 2009 by lifelong fan Faith Cohen to honor the band’s musical catalog and message. Since its inception, the event has expanded to include tribute concerts in Tokyo, exhibitions in New York City, singalongs in Buenos Aires, and gatherings in Liverpool.
Apple Corps CEO Tom Greene acknowledged the fan initiative in a letter to Cohen this week. Greene noted that the message of the song speaks to community, connection, and bringing people together, adding that the event simply asks people to stop, listen, and share joy.
The corporate recognition comes amid several new developments for the band’s estate. Earlier this month, it was announced that 3 Savile Row in London, the site of the group’s final rooftop concert, will open as an official fan experience in 2027.
Additionally, Sony Pictures Entertainment and Neal Street Productions are preparing a four-film cinematic project directed by Sam Mendes for release in April 2028. The scripted features mark the first time Apple Corps has granted full life story and music rights, starring Harris Dickinson as John Lennon, Barry Keoghan as Ringo Starr, Paul Mescal as Paul McCartney, and Joseph Quinn as George Harrison.
