Global music group Duran Duran extended their ongoing electronic music project today with the release of two new remixes for their single “Free to Love.” The latest tracks feature club-focused reworks of the band’s collaboration with Nile Rodgers.

The release features distinctly different interpretations from two electronic producers. UK producer Harrison delivered a contemporary house music version, while electronic artist BastienkHz created the “Jersey Black Cat Remix,” which blends electronic textures and club elements.

The project follows a previous remix double single from Horse Meat Disco and DJ White Shadow. This phase arrives during Pride Month and features artists tied to LGBTQ+ and dance culture to emphasize the track’s themes of freedom and inclusivity.

“It’s a real honour to work on a Duran Duran record, especially one with Nile Rodgers involved,” Harrison said. “For the remix I wanted to keep the emotion intact while giving it a club feel that works in my world.”

The single originally debuted in April and secured placements on 21 Spotify New Music Friday playlists globally. It also earned the Record of the Week title on BBC Radio 2, becoming the station’s most-played track during its first week of release.

“It was so fun to work on ‘Free To Love’ listening to Simon Le Bon’s vocal – a voice I grew up listening to,” BastienkHz said.

The collaboration adds to a creative partnership between Duran Duran and Nile Rodgers that started more than 40 years ago with a remix of the single “The Reflex.”

The announcement arrives alongside an expanded lineup for Duran Duran’s upcoming headline show at BST Hyde Park on July 5. Harrison has been added to the bill, joining special guests Scissor Sisters, Nile Rodgers & CHIC, Groove Armada, Sophie Grey, Sistra, Wendy Bevan, and Sam Scherdel.

Formed in Birmingham, Duran Duran has sold over 100 million records globally. Band members Simon Le Bon, Nick Rhodes, John Taylor, and Roger Taylor were inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and achieved their 10th UK Top 5 record with their 2023 studio album, Danse Macabre.

The band’s recent live schedule included a 2025 headline Halloween show at Manchester’s Co-op Live and an appearance at Italy’s Sanremo Festival, where they received the “Città di Sanremo” award.

In 2026, the group released new editions of The Wedding Album and Thank You. They are currently scheduled for a multi-night Las Vegas residency at the Fontainebleau, a headline set at California’s Beachlife Festival, a European tour, and an October UK arena headline tour.
