Musician, author, and multidisciplinary artist David Byrne has released a digital deluxe edition of his latest album, Who Is The Sky?. The expanded release marks the one-year anniversary of the album and includes four bonus tracks, featuring the focus single My Madness.
The deluxe edition adds two previously unreleased songs, an older track titled T Shirt recently added to Byrne’s concert setlists, and a reimagined version of What Is The Reason For It featuring Natalia Lafourcade and Mexican Institute of Sound. The original 12-track album was produced by Kid Harpoon, features arrangements by the Ghost Train Orchestra, and includes guest appearances by Hayley Williams, St. Vincent, and Tom Skinner.
In addition to the expanded album, Byrne is concluding a yearlong tour with a final performance at Forest Hills Stadium in New York City this Saturday. The tour has supported Who Is The Sky?, which served as his first full-length release following his 2018 album American Utopia.
Byrne is also preparing for the release of his new book, Sleeping Beauties: Why Good Ideas Go Dormant and How They Wake Up. The book will be published in North America by Penguin Press on October 6, 2026, followed by a release in the United Kingdom on October 8.
The publication of the book will be supported by a scheduled book tour across North America and the United Kingdom. Hardcover editions in the United Kingdom are set to be published by Canongate on November 2, 2026.
