Cole Goodwin releases traditional country ballad ‘Where She’s Coming From’

Country singer-songwriter Cole Goodwin released his latest single, “Where She’s Coming From,” on Friday. The slow-burning ballad, which details the emotional distance leading to a breaking point in a relationship, is driven by a gentle waltz and features traditional arrangements of pedal steel and fiddle.

Goodwin co-wrote the track alongside Erik Dylan and Wyatt McCubbin, with production by Ryan Youmans. The song follows his previous release, “Howdy,” and continues to highlight a sound influenced by genre legends such as Hank Williams Jr., Merle Haggard, and Waylon Jennings.

“I had the hook for it in my notes for a while, and I just tossed it out in the room after we had already finished one song that morning, and ended up writing it in no more than an hour,” Goodwin said. “I love the timeless feel of the song and the simple but powerful lyrics. I hope fans will enjoy this song and appreciate its traditional feeling melodies.”

The Pooler, Georgia, native is scheduled to perform on several high-profile tours this year, supporting artists including Dierks Bentley, Jordan Davis, and Zach Top. His upcoming schedule also includes appearances at major festivals such as Country Thunder Florida, Rock the South, and the Wrangler Remix Stage at CMA Fest.

Goodwin, who grew up watching his mother perform, has previously opened for acts such as Luke Bryan and Conner Smith. His current catalog includes tracks such as “Messin’ With My Mind,” “Dust On The Dancefloor,” and “Girlfriend’s Got A Boyfriend,” which have established his reputation for blending classic country traditions with modern storytelling.
