
CBS will honor Dolly Parton with a new Entertainment Tonight special airing Sunday, Aug. 30 at 8:00 p.m. Eastern and Pacific time. The hour-long broadcast, Remembering Dolly: A Rhinestone Life, will air on the CBS Television Network and stream on Paramount+.
The special is hosted by Entertainment Tonight co-hosts Kevin Frazier and Nischelle Turner. The program celebrates Parton’s extraordinary life and career, drawing from over four decades of footage.
Viewers will follow her journey from her origins in the Smoky Mountains to her rise as a global icon. The broadcast spans from her first Entertainment Tonight interview in 1982 through her final conversation with the show.
The special includes rare interviews and new tributes from Dionne Warwick, Melissa Etheridge, Diane Warren, Debbie Allen, and Jennifer Nettles. These segments look behind her famous songs, her work in Hollywood, her signature visual style, and her nearly 60-year marriage to Carl Dean.
The broadcast also examines her relationship with her goddaughter, Miley Cyrus, alongside her extensive philanthropic endeavors. It explores how her wit, faith, and personal wisdom shaped her public life.
The retrospective concludes with Parton’s own words on her legacy, sharing that she simply wants to be remembered as a good-hearted person.
