Beck has released a video of the first live performance of “Ride Lonesome,” the opening song on his album Ride Lonesome. He performed it May 7 at the Sydney Opera House with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra.
Beck’s live band joined him: Jason Falkner on bass and vocals, Roger Joseph Manning Jr. on piano and vocals, and James McAllister on drums. Beck and his father, David Campbell, wrote the orchestral arrangement, and Nicholas Buc conducted. Tom Gelissen mixed the audio, and Paul Hicks mastered it.
Beck has also been confirmed as support for the launch of U2’s The Greatest Show on Earth World Tour 2027. He will play U2 shows in Mexico City, Sao Paulo and Buenos Aires from late February to late March. It will be his first time sharing a stage with the band since the 2017 Joshua Tree stadium tour.
Beck is currently on the Ride Lonesome tour across North America. His sets mix songs from the new album with material from earlier albums, including Morning Phase, Sea Change and Mutations.
