Pop singer Audrey Hobert performed an NPR Tiny Desk Concert to mark the one-year anniversary of her debut album, Who’s the Clown?. The set included five tracks from the record, which originally arrived last summer.
The performance comes during a period of growth for the artist, whose total catalog streams have nearly quadrupled since May. Her single “Sue me” reached number 90 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, marking her first career appearance on the list.
Hobert writes her own music, provides vocals, and directs and edits her music videos. Who’s the Clown? represents the first collection of songs she wrote specifically for herself, produced in collaboration with partner Ricky Gourmet.
The artist recently completed her sold-out Staircase to Stardom world tour alongside appearances at festivals including Governors Ball, Bonnaroo, Lollapalooza, Hinterland, and Outside Lands. She is scheduled to play the Austin City Limits festival later this season.
This fall, Hobert will embark on a series of headline concerts across the country. The upcoming dates include a sold-out three-night run at the Brooklyn Paramount in New York, as well as shows at Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium, Chicago’s Riviera Theatre, and the Fox Theater in Oakland.
