Drum legend Carmine Appice and the blues-rock band Cactus will release their highly anticipated new album, Temple of Blues II, this Friday, April 3, through Cleopatra Records.

The announcement coincides with the Wednesday release of the album’s latest single, “Bad Stuff.” A reimagining of a track from the band’s 1972 album ‘Ot and Sweaty, the new version features guest vocals from Joe Lynn Turner (Deep Purple, Rainbow) and guitar work from Steve Morse.

The single also features contributions from bassist Tony Franklin, keyboardist Derek Sherinian, and Cactus guitarist Artie Dillon.

“When Carmine asked me to contribute, he said a bluesy rock song called ‘Bad Stuff’ would be perfect for me,” Turner said in a statement. “The result is a low-down dirty blues track that moves and grooves with a sexy voodoo swagger.”

Temple of Blues II serves as the sequel to the band’s previous acclaimed collection and maintains a star-studded roster. Returning guests include Dee Snider, Ted Nugent, and Billy Sheehan, joined by new collaborators such as Rudy Sarzo, Alex Skolnick, and Tracii Guns.

The album features several blues classics, including a rendition of “Spoonful” featuring Nugent and Bob Daisley, as well as a cover of Jimi Hendrix’s “Purple Haze” featuring the late singer Melanie.

Appice, widely regarded as one of the most influential drummers in rock history, anchors the 2026 project. “I always loved ‘Bad Stuff’ back in the day,” Appice said. “And with the new all-star version, I love it even more.”

The album will be available on all major streaming platforms and through Cleopatra Records beginning Friday. Click here to purchase cd/vinyl. Click here to stream.
