Dollywood has been named one of Frommer’s 15 Best Places to Go in 2027. The leading travel guide publisher recognized the Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, theme park and the surrounding Great Smoky Mountains as a destination travelers should consider in the year ahead.

Frommer’s editorial team develops the annual list after reviewing recommendations from journalists around the world. Pauline Frommer, the company’s editorial director, said the team polls its writers on which destinations will be especially visit-worthy, less expensive, easier to reach or about to become popular. The core editorial team then reviews the pitches and chooses the 15 it finds most interesting for travelers.

Other destinations on the 2027 list include the Austral Islands in French Polynesia, Abruzzo in Italy, Uzbekistan, the Waikato Region of New Zealand, Luxor in Egypt, Miami and Salt Lake City.

“Being recognized by Frommer’s as one of the 15 Best Places to Go in 2027 is a tremendous honor,” said Eugene Naughton, president of Dollywood Parks & Resorts. He said the park is a place where families can make lasting memories and that Dollywood looks forward to giving guests more reasons to visit in the coming year.

Dollywood combines attractions, live entertainment, seasonal festivals and culinary options with the scenery of the Great Smoky Mountains. Among its newest experiences is NightFlight Expedition, an attraction that combines four ride elements. Live musical performances and festivals run throughout the operating season, and the park’s food offerings change with each season.

Four 2027 season pass levels are available: Diamond, Gold, Silver and the Summer Fun Pass. The Pre-K Imagination Season Pass offers free admission all season to any child born in 2022 or 2023. Passes are on sale now to current 2026 passholders, with exclusive renewal benefits, and go on sale to the general public Monday, Nov. 2.

Anyone who buys a 2027 Diamond, Gold or Silver pass can start visiting during this season’s Smoky Mountain Christmas festival. The Diamond pass includes admission to both Dollywood and Dollywood’s Splash Country, four flexible Bring-A-Friend Free tickets, free general parking, one-time preferred parking, an all-season refill mug and the largest discounts on dining, shopping and lodging. Diamond passes are limited in quantity.

The two-park Gold Pass includes admission to both parks, a Bring-A-Friend Free ticket for each, free general parking, a refill mug, and discounts on dining, shopping and lodging. The one-park Gold Pass includes the same benefits without Splash Country admission.

Guests can also stay at Dollywood’s DreamMore Resort and Spa or Dollywood’s HeartSong Lodge & Resort. Both properties offer complimentary TimeSaver passes, door-to-door transportation, preferred parking at the Dollywood parks and package delivery for purchases made at the theme park.

Frommer’s was founded in 1957 by Arthur Frommer and publishes guidebooks and Frommers.com. Its annual Best Places to Go list highlights 15 destinations the editorial team believes will be especially interesting to travelers in the coming year.
