HBO has renewed its late-night original series Neighbors for a second season, the network announced ahead of the show’s first-season finale.
The six-episode debut season is set to conclude March 20, airing at 9 p.m. ET/PT on HBO and streaming on HBO Max. Since premiering Feb. 13, the series has averaged more than 2.9 million viewers per episode across platforms.
Produced by A24, “Neighbors” explores real-life disputes between neighbors across the United States, highlighting conflicts that range from property line disagreements to unusual personal clashes. The series presents an unfiltered look at everyday Americans, capturing both the absurdity and emotional weight behind neighborhood tensions.
HBO executive Nina Rosenstein said the show resonates because of its relatability and the storytelling approach of its creators.
“Everyone has a neighbor story, and Dylan and Harrison have a knack for finding ones that make you laugh, cringe, and make it impossible to look away,” Rosenstein said in a statement. “At a time when even the smallest disagreements can spiral out of control, ‘Neighbors’ feels both hilariously absurd and surprisingly relatable.”
The series is created and directed by Dylan Redford and Harrison Fishman, who also serve as executive producers. The pair spent more than two years traveling across the country to document the stories featured in the show.
In a joint statement, Redford and Fishman said they are “incredibly grateful” for the opportunity to return for a second season and continue working with HBO and their production partners.
“We can’t wait to get back out in the field and introduce audiences to the neighbors they never knew they had,” they said.
Additional executive producers include Josh Safdie, Eli Bush, Ronald Bronstein and JP Lopez Ali.
A premiere date for Season 2 has not yet been announced.
