Rapper and entertainment mogul Snoop Dogg will host the 2026 MTV Video Music Awards, marking the event’s return to the West Coast for the first time since 2017. The broadcast will originate live from Los Angeles on Sunday, Sept. 27.
The ceremony will air on the CBS Television Network, while simultaneously broadcasting on MTV and streaming for Paramount+ Premium subscribers in the U.S. International streaming on Paramount+ and global MTV broadcasts are scheduled for the following day.
Snoop Dogg brings personal history to the broadcast, having earned 13 career VMAs nominations and three wins. His past appearances on the program include a debut performance in 1994, a 1999 performance alongside Dr. Dre and Eminem, a 2005 tribute to the Notorious B.I.G., and a metaverse-inspired 2022 performance.
In a statement regarding the announcement, Snoop Dogg highlighted his long relationship with the network and producer Van Toffler. He noted that hosting represents a full-circle moment after performing on the show’s stage throughout his career.
Organizers have not yet announced the lineup of performers, presenters, or special guests for the ceremony. Additional details regarding the broadcast will be released in the weeks leading up to the event.
