Food Network has announced a new competition series, Bobby Flay’s The Line, designed to recreate the pressure of real-life restaurant kitchens. The show premieres Tuesday, September 8, at 9 p.m. ET/PT on Food Network and will be available to stream the next day on HBO Max.

The series features Bobby Flay leading a resident home team of chefs, including Antonia Lofaso, Michael Jenkins, and Claudette Zepeda. Each week, the team competes against visiting staffs from acclaimed restaurants across the country during a real-time dinner service.

During each episode, the competing kitchen lines prepare and deliver dishes to real diners and VIP guests. After receiving plate ratings from the diners, the teams can choose to adjust their strategy mid-service. If a visiting team wins the competition, they receive a $25,000 cash prize.

In the series premiere, chef Marcus Samuelsson joins Executive Chef Fariyal Abdullahi and the staff from Hav & Mar to challenge Flay’s team in a global seafood battle. Future episodes will feature visiting teams led by chefs Leah Cohen, Spike Mendelsohn, and Jonathon Sawyer.

Betsy Ayala, president of Food Network, noted that the show provides an inside look at the teamwork and precision required during restaurant service. The series is produced for the network by Rock Shrimp Productions.

The debut of Bobby Flay’s The Line follows the season five premiere of Bobby’s Triple Threat, which returns to Food Network on Tuesday, August 25, at 8 p.m. ET/PT.
