Adobe has announced a major expansion of its creative agent technology across Adobe Firefly and Creative Cloud applications. The update introduces artificial intelligence assistants to software programs including Photoshop, Premiere, Illustrator, InDesign, and Frame.io. These tools are designed to orchestrate multi-step workflows based on user descriptions.

The technology expands capabilities within the Firefly web app by introducing several new automated tools. Users can now generate brand kits, create short product videos from photos, automatically assemble video clips based on audio dialogue, and generate video from storyboards. Customization upgrades have also been added to allow the assistant to track creator preferences over time.

Adobe is also previewing an upgraded Firefly creative AI studio experience in private beta. This system connects generation and editing tasks within a single workspace. The setup introduces “Elements” for saving and reusing characters or objects across projects, alongside a “Projects” feature to organize assets across Firefly and Creative Cloud.

The public beta versions of the AI assistants function as specialists within each specific Creative Cloud application. In Premiere, the tool handles organization tasks like sorting assets, renaming clips, and identifying interview questions. In Illustrator, the assistant can generate versioned files from spreadsheets, reorganize document layers, or run pre-flight checks before printing.

Additionally, Adobe is extending its creative tools to external platforms. The tools are currently available across third-party applications including ChatGPT, Claude, and Microsoft 365 Copilot, with plans to expand to Google Gemini and Slack. The updated capabilities for Firefly are available today in the web app, while the Creative Cloud features have entered public beta.
