Slate has announced a new collaboration with Crayola to introduce five vehicle wraps for the Slate Truck. The partnership marks the first time the color and creativity brand has partnered with an automotive company. The vehicle wraps will feature five specific colors from the Crayola collection, including Cerulean, Fern, Jersey Tomato, Razzmatazz, and Dandelion.
The Slate Truck is designed specifically to accommodate wraps and is marketed as the most affordable truck in America with a base price of $24,950. The vehicle utilizes a modular platform built to allow owners to personalize and adapt the vehicle over time. Ben Whitla, head of brand and marketing for Slate, noted that the partnership allows drivers to make their mark using an instantly recognizable color palette.
The collaborative products will be packaged as starter packs that contain additional vehicle accessories. Each package includes the selected wrap alongside custom decals, a key fob cap, and a clip-on dashboard accessory called a Slatelet. Anna Roca, head of global partnerships at Crayola, stated that the collaboration transforms the vehicle into a canvas for drivers to express their individuality.
The new vehicle wraps and accessory packs will be sold directly to consumers through the online Slate Marketplace portal. Customers who place a preorder for the vehicle can add the specialty color packages to their order ahead of their designated vehicle delivery date. The Crayola starter packs will be available at a starting price of $1,549.99 through the company’s dedicated web page.
Vehicles can be ordered as a standard pickup truck or as one of two distinct SUV configurations, with options to convert the vehicle type after the initial purchase. Slate was established in 2022 with a manufacturing model focused on building affordable, customizable vehicles assembled at a facility in Warsaw, Indiana. Preorders for the vehicles are currently open for $300, and the company expects to begin its first customer deliveries in the fourth quarter of 2026.
