The progressive rock band Yes has released their 24th studio album, titled Aurora. The new musical project is officially available across global platforms through InsideOutMusic and Sony Music.
The band lineup for the recording consists of musicians Steve Howe, Geoff Downes, Jon Davison, Billy Sherwood, and Jay Schellen. Guitarist Steve Howe also served as the primary producer for the album, which features eight standard tracks and two bonus tracks titled “Jambustin'” and “Watching the River Roll.”
Development for the project began shortly after the conclusion of the band’s Classic Tales of Yes tour in 2024. The members utilized a modern recording workflow by developing musical concepts independently in home studios before integrating their individual contributions through collaborative adjustments.
The album’s title track was among the earliest sketches written during the initial creation process. According to lead vocalist Jon Davison, the name served as a visual inspiration for long-time cover artists Roger Dean and Freya Dean, who provided the official artwork for the physical releases.
Organizers have issued the album across several physical and digital formats. Physical options include a gatefold 180g double-LP version, a special edition CD digipak, and deluxe artbook packages containing bonus instrumental discs alongside Dolby Atmos, 5.1 Surround Sound, and 24-bit stereo mixes by Curtis Schwartz.
Prior to the full album release, the group distributed two promotional singles to the public. The track “Aurora” debuted on April 10, followed by the release of “Turnaround Situation” on May 20, with both tracks accompanied by video content directed by Matt Hutchings.
