Pop artist girli releases third studio album it’s just my opinion

Alternative pop artist girli has released her third studio album, it’s just my opinion, marking an evolution toward a rawer, queer alternative sound.
The album, released via Believe Music, features the singer-songwriter trading polished production for what she describes as an instinctive, uncensored approach. The project includes the opening track “Blue Sky” and the single “Slap on the Wrist,” which confronts sexual harassment and violence against women. girli performed the latter this week during her U.S. television debut on “The Kelly Clarkson Show.”
“When I first started making music, I had a strong political drive that became diluted as I was encouraged to be more ‘commercially viable,’” girli said. “Now, that’s shifted, and listeners are increasingly drawn to artists who genuinely stand for something.”
The North London-raised artist, born Milly Toomey, drew inspiration from the indie sleaze scene and punk-rock influences for the new record. Other tracks on the album include “The Answer,” which explores the awakening of her queerness through a teenage crush, and “Lifestyle,” which addresses the challenges of relationships and identity.
The release follows her sophomore album Matriarchy, which established her as a prominent voice for the LGBTQIA+ community.
To support the new release, girli is scheduled to embark on a North American tour this summer. The run begins June 11 at Baby’s All Right in Brooklyn, followed by stops in cities including Chicago, Los Angeles, Washington, D.C., and Toronto.
