The 18th annual Victorian Ghost Walk returns to Old Louisville from Oct. 16 through Oct. 18, 2026. Organizers are anticipating increased attendance following the event’s feature in the HBO documentary Murder in Glitterball City.
The two-part documentary premiered in February on HBO and HBO Max, based on the true-crime memoir A Dark Room in Glitter Ball City. The production highlights the neighborhood, its folklore, and the ghost walk event, drawing visitors from states including Texas and California.
The experience functions as a combination of walking tour and live theater, using lantern-bearing guides to lead groups along streets and into historic homes. Costumed actors portray historical neighborhood figures, including maid Jennie Bowman, Lucinda, and millionaire Alfred Victor du Pont.
Tours depart every 15 minutes between 6:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. each night, with 13 total departures offered daily. Walks launch from the Conrad-Caldwell House Museum at 1402 St. James Court, lasting approximately two hours per session at $40 per ticket plus fees.
David Dominé created the event and serves as founder of Louisville Historic Tours. He also authored the book that inspired the HBO documentary adaptation.
