The Cape Playhouse has announced the third annual production of Broadway’s Home for the Holidays, running for five performances from Thursday, Dec. 10 through Sunday, Dec. 13 in Dennis, Massachusetts. Directed by Eric Rosen with music direction by Rodney Bush, the festive musical presentation features traditional holiday songs alongside contemporary seasonal selections.
The cast features Broadway performers Sara Jean Ford, Bryonha Marie, and John Riddle. Ford’s stage credits include The Phantom of the Opera, Cats, and How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying. Marie has appeared in Broadway productions of Our Town, Prince of Broadway, and The Book of Mormon, while Riddle recently appeared in Titanique and originated roles in Frozen and The Visit.
Performances are scheduled for 6:30 p.m. on Dec. 10 and Dec. 11, with two shows on Saturday, Dec. 12 at 1 p.m. and 6 p.m. The run concludes with a final matinee presentation on Sunday, Dec. 13 at 4 p.m.
Tickets for all five performances can be purchased online through the venue’s official website. This year marks the first time the winter production takes place inside the historic theater building itself, as previous annual holiday shows were hosted at the nearby Cape Cinema.
Operating as the longest-running summer theater in the country, The Cape Playhouse recently installed heating systems in its venue for the first time in its 99-year history. The structural improvement allows the organization to expand operations beyond its traditional summer season into year-round community programming.
