Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue announced Tuesday the 2027 Shorty Gras Tour, a 12-date run across the Midwest and South in February. The tour begins Feb. 12 in Lincoln, Nebraska, and ends Feb. 27 in Memphis, Tennessee.
Stops include Kansas City, Detroit and St. Louis. DJ Logic will join the tour as a special guest on select dates.
Tickets go on sale to the general public Friday, Oct. 16, at 10 a.m. local time. An artist presale begins Wednesday, Oct. 14, at 10 a.m. local time, followed by local presales Thursday, Oct. 15, at 10 a.m. local time. Tickets and details are available on the tour page of tromboneshorty.com.
The announcement follows Trombone Shorty’s Oct. 5 performance at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans, where he led the halftime show for “Monday Night Football” on ESPN. The show marked the 20th anniversary of the New Orleans Saints’ return to the stadium after Hurricane Katrina. Orleans Avenue performed with special guests Eric Church, Kirk Franklin, Juvenile, Cyril Neville and Ivan Neville.
Trombone Shorty, born Troy Andrews, grew up in New Orleans’ Tremé neighborhood. His career has taken him from neighborhood second-line parades to international stages. With Shorty Gras, he brings the energy of Mardi Gras to audiences outside Louisiana.
Backed by Orleans Avenue, Shorty blends brass-driven funk, soulful grooves and jazz improvisation in a live show the announcement describes as a New Orleans street party. He is a Grammy winner who has performed at the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival and collaborated with well-known artists.
