CBS will air “The Price Is Right at Night: Live Holiday Special” on Sunday, Dec. 13, from 8 to 9 p.m. Eastern and Pacific. It is the first time in the game show’s 54-year history on CBS that it will broadcast in real time.
Viewers will get a behind-the-scenes look at the production as host Drew Carey, announcer George Gray, the models, and the production team work to keep the show on track. They will reset games, transform the stage, and race the clock. Contestants will play Plinko, Cliffhangers and Lucky $even, then spin The Big Wheel for a chance at a luxury showcase, all live.
Two days later, CBS will mark Carey’s 20th season as host with “The Price Is Right: 20 Seasons of Drew Carey.” The hourlong special airs Tuesday, Dec. 15, from 8 to 9 p.m. Eastern and Pacific. Carey began hosting in October 2007.
The special looks back at memorable moments from his time as host, including Showcase Showdown spins, contestant stories, big wins, bloopers, and some of his Halloween costumes. It also features celebrity appearances from past episodes, including Mila Kunis, Jack Black and Snoop Dogg. Carey will share his thoughts on why the show has endured and what hosting it has meant to him.
Fremantle produces both specials. John Quinn is showrunner and executive producer of the live special. James Davis and Quinn are the executive producers of the 20th season special.
Both specials will stream on Paramount+. Premium subscribers can stream live through their local CBS affiliate’s feed on the service, as well as on demand. Essential-tier subscribers can watch on demand the day after each episode airs.
