The Smoke House Restaurant will celebrate its 80th anniversary with a commemorative gala on Monday, October 12, 2026. The milestone event takes place in Burbank at the restaurant’s location at 4420 W. Lakeside Drive.
Established in 1946 as a 46-seat eatery following World War II, the business relocated to its current site in 1949. Positioned directly across from Warner Bros. Studios, the dining establishment expanded into an independent institution operating on a philosophy of offering fine food at a fair price.
The restaurant features classic American steakhouse menu items including garlic cheese bread, steaks, prime rib, and handcrafted cocktails. Over eight decades, the location has served as a meeting spot for entertainment professionals, film crews, and community residents while appearing in various television and film productions.
The 80th anniversary gala begins at 6:00 p.m. on October 12. The evening event brings together civic leaders, entertainment industry professionals, longtime patrons, and media representatives to honor the restaurant’s history.
The Smoke House operates as one of Southern California’s longest-running independent restaurants. Its dining rooms have hosted studio executives, actors, filmmakers, and local families since the mid-twentieth century.
