The Prodigy to open CBGB festival in Brooklyn in September 2026

Legendary British electronic pioneers The Prodigy will kick off the CBGB Festival weekend with a special performance at Under the K Bridge Park in Brooklyn on Friday, Sept. 25.

The concert, presented by CBGB & OMFUG and The Bowery Presents, marks the band’s first New York City appearance in 17 years. The lineup for the evening includes support from Berlin electronic duo Brutalismus 3000, Sextile, and Lip Critic.

The one-night event serves as the official opening for the main CBGB Festival, which takes place the following day on Saturday, Sept. 26, at the same Brooklyn venue. The festival lineup features Morrissey, Patti Smith, Interpol, Bikini Kill, Mannequin Pussy, and the Sex Pistols—featuring original members Steve Jones, Paul Cook, and Glen Matlock alongside vocalist Frank Carter.

Additional performers scheduled for the festival include Sleater-Kinney, Buzzcocks, Agnostic Front, Circle Jerks, Haywire, Upchuck, Militarie Gun, High Vis, Bad Nerves, Panic Shack, Violet Grohl, and Fred Armisen’s Ramones tribute band, The Return of Jackie and Judy.

The upcoming performance follows The Prodigy’s return to touring in July 2022 after the 2019 death of member Keith Flint. Since returning to the stage, the group has performed at international festivals including Coachella, Reading & Leeds, and the Isle of Wight, alongside European and U.K. headline arena tours. The band is currently recording new studio material to follow their last album, No Tourists.

The CBGB Festival honors the legacy of the historic Bowery venue founded by Hilly Kristal in 1973, which helped launch the careers of seminal acts such as the Ramones, Blondie, Talking Heads, and Television. The modern festival aims to connect punk’s originators with contemporary artists.
