The 7th Annual Texas Hill Country Cowboy Gathering returns to Fredericksburg on Oct. 17, 2026. Billed as “A Cowboy’s Night in Old Texas,” the evening event takes place at the Rockbox Theater to celebrate Western music, poetry, stories, and traditions.

This year’s lineup features NEA National Heritage Fellow Joel Nelson alongside traditional cowboy musicians Pipp Gillette and Lloyd Wright. Western songwriter Chris Ryden and performer Maggie Rose Hedges will also take the stage as part of the gathering.

Featured performer Andy Hedges returns for his seventh consecutive appearance at the event ahead of his Oct. 8 induction into the West Texas Walk of Fame. The scheduled performances highlight traditional instrumentation, historical cowboy songs, and original poetry about the American West.

The evening event is open to the public at the Rockbox Theater in Fredericksburg. Audience members can access the performance by attending the scheduled showcase on Oct. 17.

Founded by John Muraglia, the Texas Hill Country Cowboy Gathering operates as a 501(c)(3) organization. The group is dedicated to preserving, promoting, and celebrating the ranching and cowboy culture of the old and new West through song, story, poetry, and art.
