Bethpage, New York-born jazz and traditional pop vocalist Sal “The Voice” Valentinetti has made his official solo debut with the release of a new original single titled “Still On My Way.” The track is out now via Keep Good Company Records and is accompanied by an official music video.
The song marks a milestone for the New York singer-songwriter, who built a career performing for audiences ranging from empty rooms to millions of viewers. The single reflects on his personal journey to achieve his aspirations, with a chorus noting that dreams require decades of dedication.
The track was produced by Hudson Valley producer Lee Falco, who has previously worked with artists such as Clairo and Sam Smith. Recorded at a studio called The Building, the release features Falco on drums and percussion, Jeff Hill on bass, Jeremy Baum on keyboards, Reid Jenkins on strings, and James Richardson on French horn, with string arrangements by Ron Shalom. Justin Giup mixed the track, and Alex Black Bessen handled mastering.
The release comes exactly 10 years after Valentinetti began his singing career by earning a Golden Buzzer from Heidi Klum on America’s Got Talent following a performance of Frank Sinatra’s “My Way.” Valentinetti stated that the new song centers on the dedication required to sustain a dream over a decade of work.
Brooklyn Zeh directed the official music video, which was filmed at The Building during the recording sessions. The video focuses on the craftsmanship and collaboration of the musicians involved. Tina and Matthew Baione of Keep Good Company Records served as executive producers, while label-mate Ginger Winn served as associate producer.
The singer is celebrating the release with a performance at La Ménagère, a venue located in Florence, Italy. The show features a mix of traditional jazz standards and a preview of original material from an upcoming debut album.
Earlier this year, Valentinetti released “Little Pal,” a performance of the American Songbook ballad originally by Al Jolson and popularized by Jimmy Roselli. Now married and reflecting on fatherhood, Valentinetti recorded the song to bring a modern perspective to the traditional piece, which was featured by Atwood Magazine. Valentinetti plans to release additional material later this year.
