Russell Wilson and Kyle Long join CBS Sports pregame show The NFL Today
Russell Wilson and Kyle Long are joining the roster of CBS Sports’ pregame show, The NFL Today. The pair will sit at the desk alongside current team members Nate Burleson, Bill Cowher, and host James Brown.
In addition to the main broadcast, Wilson and Long will work as studio analysts on The NFL Today+. The digital pregame show streams on Paramount+, CBS Sports HQ, and the NFL on CBS YouTube channel.
Wilson announced the news on Wednesday, followed by an appearance Thursday morning on CBS Mornings with Burleson. During the morning broadcast, Wilson announced Long’s promotion to the permanent studio team.
“Throughout his career, Russell Wilson has been a winner, both on and off the field,” said Harold Bryant, Executive Producer and Executive Vice President of Production for CBS Sports. Bryant noted that Wilson’s preparation and leadership will bring distinct perspective and insight straight from the field.
Wilson enters the studio following a 14-year NFL career as a quarterback for the Seattle Seahawks, Denver Broncos, Pittsburgh Steelers, and New York Giants. He finished his playing career with 46,966 passing yards and 353 touchdowns. He is a Super Bowl champion, a 10-time Pro Bowl selection, and a former Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year.
Long has been with CBS Sports since 2020 and is being elevated to a full-time role after making selected appearances on the pregame show last season. He is a former first-round draft pick for the Chicago Bears and a three-time Pro Bowl selection.
Long previously worked as both a studio and game analyst across several network platforms. His past assignments include roles on That Other Pregame Show, CBS Sports HQ, and The NFL Today+.
