Paul McCartney has announced his first-ever duet with Ringo Starr, unveiling the collaboration during a fan event at Abbey Road Studios in London. The track, titled “Home to Us,” will be released May 8 and appears on McCartney’s forthcoming album The Boys of Dungeon Lane, due May 29 via Capitol Records.

McCartney revealed the song while hosting an exclusive playback session for approximately 50 fans inside Abbey Road’s Studio Two, where he shared insights into the album’s creation. “Home to Us” marks the first time McCartney and Starr have performed a duet together, despite their decades-long history as bandmates in The Beatles. The track also features backing vocals from Chrissie Hynde and Sharleen Spiteri.

According to McCartney, the song originated from a drum track recorded by Starr for the album with producer Andrew Watt. McCartney said the track was written with Starr in mind and reflects on their shared working-class beginnings in Liverpool. The finished version evolved into a full duet after Starr contributed additional vocal lines.

“Home to Us” follows the release of the album’s lead single, “Days We Left Behind.” The upcoming record is McCartney’s first solo album in more than five years and features him playing the majority of the instruments, echoing the approach of his 1970 debut, McCartney.

The Boys of Dungeon Lane is described as a deeply personal collection of songs that revisit McCartney’s early life in postwar Liverpool, including formative experiences alongside George Harrison and John Lennon before the rise of Beatlemania. The album will be released on May 29.
