Rock band Mötley Crüe has achieved one billion streams on Spotify for its single “Kickstart My Heart,” joining the streaming platform’s Billions Club. The milestone places the track alongside selections from rock artists including Ozzy Osbourne, Black Sabbath, Metallica, Aerosmith, and Led Zeppelin.
The streaming achievement coincides with updated Recording Industry Association of America certification levels across the group’s catalog since BMG acquired the recordings in 2022. “Kickstart My Heart” reached 2x Platinum status, while the album Dr. Feelgood advanced from 6x Platinum to 9x Platinum.
Additional new catalog honors include Platinum certifications for “Dr. Feelgood,” “Girls, Girls, Girls,” and “Home Sweet Home.” The songs “Wild Side,” “Shout At The Devil,” “Looks That Kill,” and “Live Wire” also received Gold certifications.
Streaming access to the track continues alongside physical release offerings managed through BMG. The milestone precedes the band’s planned October 30 release of a 45th anniversary edition of its 1981 debut album, Too Fast For Love.
Formed 45 years ago, Mötley Crüe recently completed its summer amphitheater concert circuit, titled The Return Of The Carnival Of Sins Tour. The run represented the group’s first full concert tour in three years.
