Max comedy series ‘Stuart Fails To Save The Universe’ to premiere in July

The Max Original comedy series “Stuart Fails To Save The Universe” will debut this July on HBO Max, Warner Bros. Television announced Monday.

The series, based on characters from “The Big Bang Theory,” was officially revealed at CCXP Mexico City. It stars Kevin Sussman as comic book store owner Stuart Bloom, alongside Lauren Lapkus as Denise, Brian Posehn as Bert, and John Ross Bowie as Barry Kripke.

The plot follows Stuart as he attempts to restore reality after breaking a device built by characters Sheldon and Leonard, an accident that triggers a “multiverse Armageddon.” Throughout the quest, the group encounters alternate-universe versions of characters from the original franchise.

The production also announced that Danny Elfman, an Emmy and Grammy winner and Oscar nominee, will create the original theme music for the series.

“Stuart Fails To Save The Universe” is a production of Chuck Lorre Productions in association with Warner Bros. Television. The series is created, written, and executive produced by Chuck Lorre, Zak Penn, and Bill Prady.

First-look images and teaser art were released in conjunction with the announcement. Specific release dates for the July premiere have not yet been disclosed.
