MasterCraft Boat Company and truck accessory brand RealTruck have announced a collaborative vehicle restoration project to mark the 250th anniversary of the United States. The initiative involves the complete restoration of a 1975 MasterCraft Stars & Stripes tournament ski boat alongside a matching customized Chevrolet Colorado pickup truck. The completed truck-and-boat combination will serve as the focal point for a national fundraising campaign.
All proceeds from the joint manufacturing and restoration project will directly benefit Building Homes for Heroes, a national non-profit organization. The charity constructs and modifies mortgage-free homes for injured military veterans and first responders. Marking its 20th anniversary, the housing organization expects to complete its milestone 500th home placement before the conclusion of the calendar year.
The design team styled the custom Chevrolet Colorado using visual elements inspired by a 1985 square-body pickup, mirroring the classic red, white, and blue aesthetic of the 1970s tournament ski boat. The custom truck incorporates specialized aftermarket equipment, including an Ohio-made truck cap, specialized fishing pole holders, a roof storage basket, an elevated rack system, and a modular drawer storage system. A dedicated commemorative national flag graphic is also positioned permanently on the roof section of the vehicle.
Country music performer Warren Zeiders has joined the project as an official partner to help generate public awareness for the charitable campaign. The artist will utilize his social media channels to promote the sweepstakes, which will eventually award the completed truck and boat to a participant. The final prize package will also include VIP concert tickets, a private meeting with the musician, and a signed guitar.
The completed vehicle pairing is scheduled to embark on a promotional national tour to showcase the craftsmanship before the final giveaway. Public unveilings will take place at the American Century Championship celebrity golf tournament in Lake Tahoe from July 8 through July 12. Additional scheduled exhibition stops include the Barrett-Jackson auction events in Las Vegas and Scottsdale, alongside a display at the annual SEMA trade show in November.
