Kings of Leon released the new song “KOYSAR” on Oct. 16. It is the latest preview of the band’s 10th studio album, O My Beloved, which comes out Nov. 6 via Love Tap Records, distributed by Virgin Music.
The title is short for “Kick Off Your Shoes and Run.” The song draws on the band’s childhood memories and the perspective the members have gained while raising families of their own. It pairs a relaxed feel with a joyful, carefree spirit.
Lead singer Caleb Followill said the idea came to him at home. “I was walking around the house and I kept singing ‘kick off your shoes and run,’ and it started to take me back to when we were kids and we didn’t have a care in the world,” he said. “I believe if we hold close the things and the people that matter most, everything is going to be alright.”
The official music video shows the band spending a day at the fair with their loved ones. It nods to the simple pleasures of their past and to keeping family traditions alive while making new memories.
“KOYSAR” follows “My Whole World,” the first single from O My Beloved, and “Cold Blue Dawn,” which arrived last month. That song came with a lyric video made with The Weather Channel that uses NASA satellite topography to illustrate the lyrics.
The new song and video are available to stream now. O My Beloved can be pre-ordered, pre-added and pre-saved ahead of its Nov. 6 release.
O My Beloved is the band’s first full-length self-produced album. The band calls it its most intimate and unguarded record to date, reflecting on family, gratitude and the journey that brought the members to where they are today.
Kings of Leon are Caleb Followill (guitar, vocals), Nathan Followill (drums), Jared Followill (bass) and Matthew Followill (guitar). Since their 2003 debut, they have sold more than 20 million albums and nearly 40 million singles worldwide. They have won four Grammy Awards and have eight nominations.
