The musical duo Hovvdy has announced the upcoming release of their sixth full-length studio album, titled Big World. The new collection of music is scheduled to arrive on August 14 through the Arts and Crafts record label. To coincide with the album announcement, band members Will Taylor and Charlie Martin have shared a new single titled “Blast” along with an accompanying music video directed by Michael Rees.
The band’s touring schedule begins immediately with a summer concert series supporting Bleachers. Following those dates, the duo will perform as a supporting act for Wilco later this summer. In the autumn, Hovvdy will transition to a headlining tour that travels across various venues in the United States and Canada during October and November.
Musicians Emma Ogier and Christian Lee Hutson are scheduled to join the autumn headlining leg as supporting acts. This touring cycle follows the band’s previous self-titled 2024 record. Tickets for the upcoming performances are currently available through the band’s official website.
The creative process for the new album was heavily influenced by Taylor and Martin relocating to Nashville, where both members established themselves as published songwriters. For this project, the duo altered their traditional workflow by entering the studio with only instrumental tracks rather than pre-written demos. The songwriting focuses on concise arrangements and a real-time response to the music during production sessions.
The recording process took place over a series of sessions in Nashville and Asheville during the fall of 2025. Longtime collaborator Ben Littlejohn served as the producer for the new album. The final tracks represent a shift toward sonically immediate arrangements mixed with emotionally ambiguous lyrical themes.
