Gracie Abrams releases new single ‘Hit the Wall’ ahead of third studio album
Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter Gracie Abrams has released her new single, “Hit the Wall,” via Interscope Records, marking the first track from her upcoming third studio album.
The new project, titled Daughter from Hell, is scheduled for release on July 17.
Abrams co-wrote and produced the upcoming album alongside Aaron Dessner. The announcement comes two years after her sophomore album, The Secret of Us, which debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 and secured No. 1 spots in the United Kingdom, Australia, and the Netherlands.
The release of “Hit the Wall” is accompanied by an official music video directed by Renell Medrano, which utilizes a surrealist style and symbolic imagery.
Daughter from Hell follows a series of charting successes for Abrams. Her previous album featured standout tracks such as “Close to You,” which marked her first solo debut on the Billboard Hot 100, and “I Love You, I’m Sorry.” A subsequent deluxe edition of the album included the track “That’s So True,” which reached No. 1 on the U.S. Spotify chart, surpassed 1.5 billion streams, and became her first top 10 hit on the Billboard Hot 100.
Abrams first debuted in 2019 and later released the EPs minor in 2020 and This Is What It Feels Like in 2021. Her 2023 debut album, Good Riddance, earned her a nomination for Best New Artist at the 66th Annual Grammy Awards. Following the release, she joined Taylor Swift as an opening act on select dates of the Eras Tour.
Her sophomore project also earned Abrams her second Grammy nomination, receiving a nod for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance for the song “us.” featuring Taylor Swift. Abrams concluded a solo North American arena run, The Secret of Us Deluxe Tour, in 2025.
In addition to her music career, Abrams serves as a house ambassador for Chanel and was featured in the brand’s Spring-Summer 2025 Pre-Collection and COCO CRUSH campaigns. She is also set to make her acting debut in an upcoming film from the production company A24 titled “Please.”
