Food Network will debut its new baking game show Sweet Deceit on Monday, Oct. 5, 2026, at 10:00 p.m. ET/PT. Hosted by actor Josh Peck, the series features teams of three contestants attempting to identify hyper-realistic, edible desserts disguised as real-world objects.
Each episode tasks competitors with locating masterfully disguised cakes hidden within everyday environments. The competition escalates across four rounds of increasing difficulty, with contestants required to bite into their chosen items to verify if they are edible, competing for a total cash prize of up to $12,000.
The season begins with Sweet Deceit: Trick or Treat, featuring eight double-stacked Halloween-themed episodes set in locations such as haunted houses, a movie set morgue, a kindergarten Halloween party, and the Magic Castle. A holiday installment, Sweet Deceit: Holiday, follows on Monday, Nov. 16, 2026, at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT, featuring eight episodes set in locations including a cabin, an ice rink, and Santa’s workshop.
A rotating panel of elite cake artists specializing in edible illusions will join the show throughout the season. Featured sculptors include Jose Barajas, Jonny “Jonny Cakes” Manganello, Andrew Fuller, Ashley Holt, April Julian, and Liz Marek.
Produced by Lando Entertainment for Food Network, new episodes will air on television before becoming available to stream the next day on HBO Max.
