Pop singer Carly Rae Jepsen has released her new single Motivation via Interscope Records. The track comes from the second half of her upcoming 24-track double album, Day and Night, which is scheduled for release on September 18.
Written by Jepsen with Cole M.G.N., who produced the track alongside Kyle Shearer, the house-inspired song reflects on family dynamics and personal growth. The single forms part of the “night” section of the record, which focuses on dance music.
An official music video filmed in Paris accompanied the release of the single. Directed by Caio Viera, the video features fashion designer and model Gigi Goode, known for her appearance on RuPaul’s Drag Race.
The forthcoming double album features two distinct musical styles split between its project halves. The “day” side contains pop tracks including previous singles On Wires and After All, while the “night” side features dance tracks including Motivation and Don’t Leave Me on the Dance Floor.
The music video for Don’t Leave Me on the Dance Floor was directed by playwright Jeremy O. Harris and stars actor Alden Ehrenreich alongside Olivia Washington. The full album will be available across digital platforms on September 18.
