Campbell’s is launching a new line of canned soups designed to provide higher amounts of protein and fiber. The product line, packaged with distinctive green labels, is currently rolling out to retailers nationwide and on Amazon.com.
Each can in the new lineup contains 20 grams of protein and is made with a slow-simmered bone broth base. The company developed these recipes to align with consumer wellness trends, citing data indicating that a majority of Americans are looking to add more protein to their diets.
The product line features five distinct varieties that use ingredients such as white meat chicken, beans, lentils, and vegetables. The available options include Homestyle Chicken and Rotini, Italian-Style Wedding, Lemon Pepper Chicken, Southwest Black Bean, and Mediterranean Lentil.
According to Benjamin Crook, Senior Vice President of Soup and Broth at The Campbell’s Company, the products are designed to offer nutrition from a familiar brand. The company intends for the new line to satisfy consumers looking for both convenience and dietary fiber.
The launch comes as food manufacturers increasingly adjust their product portfolios to meet changing consumer wellness priorities. The new soups represent the latest development in the company’s history of soup production, which spans more than 155 years.
