Bad Bunny arrived at the 2026 Met Gala with a concept-driven look that reimagined the artist decades into the future, aligning with this year’s Costume Institute theme, “The Aging Body.”

The six-time Grammy-winning artist, born Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio, appeared on the red carpet as an aged version of himself, using prosthetics to depict what he might look like 50 years from now. The transformation was created in collaboration with Mike Marino, who worked with the artist to design a hyper-realistic portrayal based on how time could affect his features. The result emphasized natural aging details, including wrinkles and changes to the face, neck, and hands.

Bad Bunny paired the prosthetic design with a custom all-black tuxedo that he co-designed with Zara. The look included a sculptural oversized bow referencing a 1947 design by Charles James, whose work is part of the Costume Institute’s collection. Accessories included jewelry from Cartier, anchored by an archival 1995 watch.

The appearance was a direct response to the exhibition theme curated by Andrew Bolton, with the artist using the global platform to explore ideas of aging, identity, and permanence. The minimalist black suit contrasted with the detailed prosthetics, underscoring the concept that while clothing may remain timeless, the body inevitably changes.

The look marked one of Bad Bunny’s most conceptual Met Gala appearances, offering a reflective interpretation of the theme during one of fashion’s most widely watched events.
