America Haunts names top five haunted attractions for 2026 season

Industry trade group America Haunts announced its 2026 selections for the top five haunted attractions in the nation. The organization evaluated venues based on year-round design work, special effects technology, overall scale, and financial value for guests during the Halloween season.

The top five selected venues for 2026 include Erebus Haunted Attraction in Pontiac, Michigan; Factory of Terror in Canton, Ohio; Niles Scream Park in Niles, Michigan; The Haunted Trail of Balboa Park in San Diego, California; and Bates Motel and Haunted Hayrides in Glen Mills, Pennsylvania.

The selected attractions feature sprawling multi-acre designs, including a half-mile indoor environment at Erebus, a mile-long outdoor path at Balboa Park, and 44 acres of interactive spaces at Niles Scream Park. Major set additions this season include a jack-o’-lantern walkthrough at Factory of Terror and an expanded Wild West town at the Bates Motel property.

Ticket sales, venue access, and scheduling details are managed directly by each individual haunted attraction across their respective regional markets. Most venues offer multi-attraction passes, escape room add-ons, themed midway activities, and concessions on-site.

America Haunts is an association representing commercial haunted attractions and horror entertainment venues across the United States. The organization promotes industry safety standards and highlights premier fear-based attractions operating during the fall season.
