Shinedown has set new records on rock radio as their single “Searchlight” reached No. 1 on both Mediabase’s Active Rock chart and Billboard’s Mainstream Rock Airplay chart, marking the band’s 24th and 22nd chart-topping songs, respectively.

The achievement extends Shinedown’s long-standing dominance in rock radio, making them the leader in all-time No. 1 songs on both charts. Frontman Brent Smith described the milestone as “humbling and emotional,” crediting fans, radio program directors, and the rock community for the band’s continued success.

“Searchlight,” written by Smith, Eric Bass, and Dave Bassett, blends rock, Americana, R&B, bluegrass, and outlaw country influences while maintaining the anthemic power that has defined Shinedown’s career. The song made its live debut at the Grand Ole Opry, receiving a standing ovation from the audience.

The band is preparing for the release of their eighth studio album, EI8HT, set for May 29 via Atlantic Records. They also plan to embark on the Dance Kid Dance Act II World Tour, covering North America, the United Kingdom, and Europe.

Over the past year, Shinedown has delivered multiple No. 1 hits, including “Dance, Kid, Dance” and “Killing Fields,” while “Three Six Five” has crossed over to alternative, Hot AC, and Top 40 formats. Their catalog boasts over 8.3 billion global streams, with multiple platinum and gold certifications.

“Searchlight” represents more than another chart-topping single; it reflects the enduring bond between Shinedown, their fans, and the rock community worldwide.
