SPN’s College GameDay Built by The Home Depot will broadcast live from The Grove on the Ole Miss campus on Saturday, Sept. 19. The show airs from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. ET on ESPN, ESPNU, Disney+, and the ESPN App ahead of the game between No. 8 Ole Miss and No. 7 LSU at 7:30 p.m. on ABC.
Actor and Mississippi native Morgan Freeman will make his first appearance on the program as the celebrity guest picker. Ole Miss head coach Pete Golding is scheduled to join the broadcast set live during the morning show.
The game marks the first time since 1962 that LSU and Ole Miss have met as Top-10 teams in the AP Poll. Head coach Lane Kiffin becomes the second head coach in AP Poll history to face a Top-10 opponent he coached during the previous season.
Host Rece Davis leads the broadcast team alongside analysts Kirk Herbstreit, Desmond Howard, Pat McAfee, and Nick Saban. The show will feature a preview of SABAN, an upcoming six-part documentary series about former coach Nick Saban, as well as a feature by reporter Wright Thompson on Kiffin’s return to Oxford.
The event includes interactive fan activities such as Pat McAfee’s kicking contest and a digital scavenger hunt around campus organized with agency Assembli and Flowcode. Following the morning broadcast, Marty & McGee will air live from Boure off the Oxford square from 12 p.m. to 12:45 p.m.
