Dollywood Parks and Resorts has announced plans to introduce several new experiences and installations honoring the legacy, values, and vision of Dolly Parton. The upcoming additions will provide visitors with new ways to reflect on Parton’s life, faith, and influence throughout the theme park property.
As part of the updates, the Robert F. Thomas Chapel will receive a cascading mountainside waterfall outside its front steps. The chapel will also feature new commissioned stained-glass windows depicting the changing seasons of the Great Smoky Mountains, inspired by the Bible verse Ecclesiastes 3:1.
In 2027, the Wildwood Grove area of the park will introduce a new interactive character called the Dream Maker, accompanied by the Dream Wagon. The character will offer storytelling sessions that encourage children to share their goals and learn about Parton’s work with Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library.
Special kiosks will also be installed throughout Wildwood Grove for guests to leave personal notes about how Parton inspired them. Additionally, a new portal entrance will be constructed for The Dolly Parton Experience, and a temporary memorial remains active in Dollywood’s welcome plaza.
Outside the resort, the Sevierville Chamber of Commerce will launch a self-guided walking tour program titled In Dolly’s Footsteps. The initiative will feature historical markers placed at various locations throughout Sevierville that Parton and her family frequented during her youth.
