The Jack Wharff Band has released a new single titled “Small Town Heart” through Big Machine Records. The track was written by band members Jack Wharff, Evan Novoa, Ryan Atchison, and Garrett Howell alongside Luke Wharff and Joe Clemmons.
The song combines Appalachian rock and bluegrass-tinged country influences to celebrate small-town communities and personal heritage. The release marks the band’s latest musical project following the earlier releases of their single “Lowlife” and their EP Strange.
Formed in Richmond, Virginia, the four-piece ensemble features vocalist Jack Wharff, drummer Garrett Howell, bassist Ryan Atchison, and guitarist Evan Novoa. The group first gained public attention in 2024 through video clips of original music shared on social media platforms.
The release follows recent festival performances, including an appearance on the Nissan Stadium Platform Stage during CMA Fest, as well as sets at Country Thunder in Wisconsin, Rock the Country, and Tailgate N’ Tallboys. The band previously completed its headlining From The Hills To The Holler Tour and released its debut EP Richmond’s Most Wanted, which featured the track “Washed.”
The band will begin a North American headlining run, titled The High Road Tour, starting September 12 at Mahall’s in Cleveland, Ohio. Upcoming dates also include appearances at the Boots and Hearts Music Festival and Boots on the Bend, along with supporting performances for Max McNown, Ole 60, Dylan Gossett, and The Avett Brothers.
