San Francisco rock band Train has released “Mad Dog in the Fog,” the title track from their forthcoming 12th studio album. The album is scheduled for release on August 28, 2026, through Columbia Records.

Named after a San Francisco neighborhood bar where the group formed, the album serves as a tribute to the city where the band began. The accompanying music video for the title track was filmed inside the original bar venue.

Frontman Pat Monahan stated that the album reflects the band’s identity after a four-year gap between studio releases. “Mad Dog in the Fog” follows the previously released singles “Pennsylvania Turnpike” and “The Weekend.”

The group is currently on North American dates for the Drops of Jupiter: 25 Years in the Atmosphere Tour, celebrating the 25th anniversary of their 2001 album. The tour features guest appearances by Barenaked Ladies and Matt Nathanson on most dates.

Formed in 1994, Train has released 11 previous studio albums and holds three Grammy Awards. The current band lineup features Monahan alongside Butch Walker, Hector Maldonado, Jerry Becker, and Matt Musty.
