The Cape Playhouse has launched its 2026 summer season with a limited run of Nat Zegree’s Mozart to Pop Chart. The production will play for 22 performances only from Wednesday, June 3 through Saturday, June 20, 2026. Performances take place at the Cape Cod Center for the Arts, located at 820 Main Street on Route 6A in Dennis, Massachusetts.

The production enters the venue’s historic centennial year, marking its status as the longest continuously operating summer theater in the United States. Created by and starring singer, pianist, and previous Playhouse performer Nat Zegree, the theatrical concert explores the historical and contemporary musical traditions behind modern popular music. The production is directed by Kenneth Ferrone.

The on-stage company includes a cast of Broadway singers and instrumentalists. The featured performers are Olivia Dorschel on reeds, singer Iliana Garcia, singer and guitarist Ryan Guerra, singer and violinist Lisa Helmi Johanson, cellist Bithyah Israel, singer and bassist Jamie Mohamdein, singer and violinist Tora Nogami Alexander, and drummer Matt Spencer.

Zegree returns to the Dennis stage following previous sold-out performances in Million Dollar Quartet and The History of Rock ‘n Roll. His career includes over 600 performances as Jerry Lee Lewis in regional productions of Million Dollar Quartet, composing the score for the off-West End musical Fly More Than You Fall, and writing The Kings Critique, which opens Off-Broadway at the Signature Theatre this fall.

Director Kenneth Ferrone balances the production alongside a portfolio of recent credits, including directing The Wanderer at Paper Mill Playhouse and Prelude to a Kiss at Milwaukee Rep. On Broadway, Ferrone has worked as an associate director on productions including SpongeBob SquarePantsMother Play, and Redwood. He also previously directed Zegree’s short film, Hey Beautiful.

The backstage creative team for Mozart to Pop Chart includes scenic designer Christina J. Garner, costume designer Lisa Zinni, lighting designer Tyler Zickmund, and sound designer Cal Martine. Projection designs are handled by Yana Biryukova and Michael Salvatore Commendatore.

Following the run of Mozart to Pop Chart, the remainder of the Cape Playhouse 2026 summer lineup will feature four additional mainstage productions. The schedule includes Into the Woods running from June 24 to July 11, Hairspray from July 15 to August 8, Mean Girls from August 12 to August 29, and The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee closing out the season from September 2 to September 19.
