Shawn Mendes marks 10th anniversary of hit single with limited-edition vinyl release
Singer, songwriter, and producer Shawn Mendes released a new limited-edition 7-inch vinyl single to mark the 10th anniversary of his track “Treat You Better.” The special physical release, distributed via Blood Records, sold out within minutes of its launch.
The record features the original studio version of the song on Side A. Side B contains a previously unreleased live performance titled “Treat You Better (Live From New York).” The physical packaging design references the original cover artwork from the musician’s 2016 studio album, Illuminate.
Both the original track and the newly released live recording are now available across digital streaming platforms. Mendes also posted the official performance video for the live version on his YouTube channel. Mendes shared a social media message noting the anniversary and thanking his audience for their support over the decade.
The single originally debuted on June 3, 2016. It subsequently earned a 7x-Platinum certification from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). The original track has accumulated nearly 5 billion streams, while its accompanying music video has reached nearly 3 billion views. The single’s initial release preceded his Illuminate album, which debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 chart and went 2x-Platinum.
