Icona Pop announces new album ‘Ritual’ and releases single ‘Dance To This’

Multi-platinum pop duo Icona Pop has announced that their fourth studio album, Ritual, will be released Aug. 14 via Ultra Records and Iconic Sound Recordings.
The announcement was accompanied by the release of a new single, “Dance To This,” along with an official music video directed by Gustav Stegfors. The track was co-written by the duo and produced by Sebastian Furrer.
The album follows a transformative period for members Caroline Hjelt and Aino Jawo, exploring themes of reinvention, motherhood, and healing.
“Healing requires you to slow down and reflect, but you can’t work on yourself 24/7 forever,” the duo said in a joint statement. “Eventually, you have to get back out into the world and see what happens. For us, the dance floor has always been a place where we find ourselves and each other again.”

Jawo noted that the production on “Dance To This” mirrors the sound of the group’s early career, while Hjelt described the song as capturing the moment of “finding yourself by going out.”
The upcoming album follows the 2023 release of CLUB ROMANTECH and features the previously released title track, “Ritual,” which includes a collaboration with singer Daya.
Icona Pop rose to international prominence in 2012 with the 5x Platinum hit “I Love It” featuring Charli XCX. Since then, the Stockholm-born pair has sold over 10 million copies of their breakout single and collaborated with artists such as Joel Corry, Galantis, and Sofi Tukker.
Ritual is currently available for pre-order and pre-save.
